USA Today gave Amanda Flower's A Plain Death a rave review and has followed up with this full interview. What the national newspaper suggested "could be the first Amish rom-com" turns out to be quite autobiographical.

"When I was Chloe's age, I moved to Ohio's Amish Country to take a job at a small college," Flower explains. "Even though it was only a few hours from where I grew up in the city, it felt like landing on another planet, so this small detail of the story is based on my own life."
